Welcome to our profile!

We respect the important decision you are making and thank you for taking the time to read about us as you consider your adoption plan. We hope these pages give you a good sense of who we are and what we can bring to a child's life. We are so excited about the possibility of meeting you.

Ashley (by Amy)

Ashley is a gentle soul - caring, patient and generous. She loves children and they respond to her in kind, drawn to her naturally. Ashley has a positive attitude and is always up for anything. Her enthusiasm makes even day-to-day activities seem special, such as making dinner at home or on a Sunday drive.

Ashley is incredibly smart and responsible. She has a very stable job as a lawyer and her office is just minutes from our home. She is calm under pressure and capable in any situation - not only do clients value her advice, family and friends seek her counsel as well. With Ashley as a parent, a child will always feel loved and safe.

Amy (By Ashley)

Amy is a photographer and documentary filmmaker. Her job has taken her on many exciting adventures, which she loves sharing with friends and family. Amy is self-employed and works out of our home, which will allow her to make taking care of a child her number one priority. Amy can connect with just about anyone, and has a knack for making people feel listened to and really understood. Amy's work reflects this sensitivity and I am always amazed at what it reveals about the world around us. Children love Amy - I think they sense her goodness and fairness and relate to her genuine delight in discovering new places, people and experiences. Amy will be a loving and wise parent who will help a child develop self knowledge, compassion and the confidence to be true to themselves.

Together

We met in college and have been together for twelve happy years. One of the reasons our relationship works so well is that we complement each other. We have different strengths and are always learning from each other. We truly are best friends.

At Home

We cherish quiet times at home. A highlight is relaxing at dinner and talking through the challenges and triumphs of the day. We can always make each other laugh, and by the time we are finished with dessert, everything is usually in perspective. Every day we focus on appreciating the life and love we have. We can't wait to welcome a child into our family and build new traditions together.

Family

We were both lucky enough to grow up in loving, close-knit families who are a big part of our lives today.

Amy's parents, Henry and Diane, have been married for over 35 years and live about a half hour away, in a house on a quiet pond. They can't wait to meet their first grandchild! Amy and her brother Hank are great friends and confidantes. They share a love for baseball and music and still go to ball games together, just like when they were kids. We visit Hank in rural Virginia and he comes up to New York frequently.

Ashley's parents, Doug and Sandee, have been married for over 40 years and live on the shores of Cape Cod. Ashley is very close to her sister Erin, brother-in-law Andy, and nephews, Tyler and Travis. She was even in the delivery room when Travis was born! They live nearby and we celebrate all of the boys' special occasions with them.

Our Neighborhood, Friends & Activities

We live in New York City and love the energy and diversity that surrounds us here. There's always a new neighborhood to explore on a walk with Nike - you never know what you'll find just around the next corner.

We enjoy investigating the amazing experiences the city offers kids with our friends and their children. On the weekends, one of our favorite things to do is to take road trips to the countryside, beaches and interesting towns around the city.

Thank you...

Thank you for looking at our book. If you choose to entrust us with your child, we can promise you that we will always celebrate who they are, nurture their interests, talents and dreams, and make sure they know how much they are loved - both by us and by you.
