Welcome to our profile!

We invite you to step into our lives for a moment. We realize that words rarely capture a personality or adequately describe a family. However, our hope is that after reading the following pages and looking at a few pictures, you will have some understanding of who we are, and how much we are looking forward to building our family through adoption.

Though adoption is a beautiful choice, we can appreciate how challenging your decision must be. Perhaps by learning a little bit about us, and our dream of bringing another child into our lives, you might find some comfort and hope at this time.

About Us

We met in college, but didn't begin dating until later when we were both living in New York City. Jeremy was just beginning a career in the financial world, and Christine was studying to become a reading teacher. From the moment we met, we've always enjoyed each other's company and sense of humor. We have been blessed with a marriage based on mutual trust and respect.

Almost two years ago, our lives were forever changed when Angela was born and we had the privilege of becoming her parents through adoption. She has been such a blessing to us. We feel tremendous love and respect for her birthmother. Already, we have begun telling Angela about her adoption so that she always understands the choices her birthmother made. We believe that a sibling relationship is one of the most treasured parts of childhood. We look forward to watching our children grow up, sharing life and laughter together.

about Christine

The moment I met Christine, she had me laughing at some funny comment that she made, and I found her so easy to talk to. What I have grown to understand better and better over the years is how generous and nurturing Christine is (almost every day she asks me what I ate for lunch!). Christine is creative and notices everything - not just the way things look, but something deeper, about the way people are feeling. This nurturing, caring quality has kept Christine close to her friends from all different stages of life, and I am convinced it is what makes her the loving, devoted mother she is today.

I haven't met many people with as many devoted, loyal friends as Christine. She also has a very close connection to her family. I think she talks almost every day with her mother and/or sister. Christine worked as a reading teacher for years and is a natural with kids. Before Angela came along, she began studying interior design because she needed another outlet for her creativity. Now she is absolutely thriving as a stay-at-home mom. Christine spends hours playing with Angela, cooking her meals, taking her to the playground, and to music and gym classes. Her affection is not limited to Angela, however. We spend time a lot of time with our family and friends' small children, and Christine is very much at ease and shows a real tenderness towards every child, and they are always eager to talk to her. I know she can't wait to expand our family!

about Jeremy

Jeremy is one of the kindest, gentlest people I know. He has a dry, hysterical sense of humor that keeps me laughing, even during tough times. He is steadfast and loyal, thoughtful and optimistic. Jeremy enjoys life, and likes to have a good time. He is also very lucky to love his work.

Jeremy is a real family man. Before Angela came along, I would have said his greatest passion was baseball. Now, however, it is easy to say that his life's greatest passion is being a dad! He is a devoted father, and always makes time to play with and entertain Angela with patience, enthusiasm and love. The minute he comes home from work, Angela and the dogs rush to the door to greet him. He does this little dance and drops to the floor, rolling around and wrestling with all of them. Before even giving me a kiss hello, Jeremy is playing fetch with them, or coming up with some other creative type of game to entertain. When our friends and neighbors come over, the kids always gravitate to him. Jeremy also loves babies and is a natural with them. I know in my heart he will thrive as a father of two!

about Angela

Angela is full of life. She is playful, caring and absolutely hums with energy. She loves spending time with other children, and is already practicing being a big sister. Here are some of her favorite things: doggies, playing with blocks, swings and slides, running on the grass, pushing a stroller or shopping cart, (attempting to) climb ladders, giggling, and eating grapes and oreos.

Our home and community

We live in a townhouse, on a quiet residential street in New York City, and we love it! Our lives are very much centered around our home and family. Angela and our small dogs, Holly and Henry, love to run around in our private backyard, and we enjoy playing with them and relaxing outside, a gift in a busy city.

Our neighborhood is very family-friendly ... our block is overflowing with children of all ages. There are four different playgrounds within a 5-minute walk of our house, and Angela is already an expert in a few of them. We cherish the thought of her as a big sister, showing her younger sibling the ropes (no pun intended!)! The neat thing about these playgrounds is that they are each set up differently, to accommodate children of all ages, so that everyone is safe. We love the fact that our neighborhood is very diverse, and the local schools are excellent.

family and friends

After work and on the weekends, we spend a lot of time together as a family. We love to take walks in Central Park and explore New York City. The Natural History Museum and the Central Park Zoo are popular destinations, and both are within walking distance. When we aren't in the city, we spend time at our weekend place in Connecticut. There we all have room to spread our wings and relax! We prefer to be active in the outdoors, hiking with Angela in a backpack in the woods, sledding and playing in the snow in the winter, swimming and spending time at the beach in the summer, visiting with friends throughout the year, and discovering new places.

In the summers we often go to Maine, and also to northern Michigan, where Christine's mom lives during the summer. Spending time with both of our families is very important to us; Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter are huge celebrations. Angela has been blessed with devoted grandparents and an uncle and aunt on both sides of the family. We know that our entire family will welcome a second child as lovingly and excitedly as they have the first.
