My Family

Between my immediate family and my “family by choice” (my friends), I have a great support system for me and for my future child.

My parents are recently retired and live less than 3 miles from me. They have been acting as “grandparents-by-love” to their friends’ two daughters. They are looking forward to grandparenting my child – lots of love, a little guidance, sprinkled with some spoiling.

My brother Geoff, 3 years younger than me, lives 15 minutes away. We had a typical sibling relationship when we were growing up but today are good friends, always there for each other. He has already asked if he will be allowed to spoil his future niece or nephew and I assured him, within limits, yes.

“Family is more than biology.”
