Parenting & Traditions
Becoming parents has been the greatest joy of our lives. While many of the daily tasks have changed — steaming and mashing healthy meals, changing wet diapers, and always keeping one step ahead of a fast-moving toddler — the foundation of our lives has remained unchanged. Knowing that we would be parents one day, we made decisions with children in mind — choosing to live in places that have good schools, a strong and diverse community, and that are safe and nurturing for kids.
We want to be there every step of the way for our children. We believe in parenting through example — treating other people, the planet, and animals with respect at all times; displaying good manners; being grateful for good fortune; and looking out for “the little guy.” We place high value on sharing family traditions and establishing new ones — from trimming the Christmas tree, to “mooing” at the cows each time we drive past the farm up the road, to eating dinner at the table as a family each night. It is important to us to raise our children much as we were raised — with stability, nurturing, guidance, and unconditional love.
