Hello. We are Christine and John. We are really looking forward to raising a family and becoming first time parents. For us, nothing could be more rewarding than nurturing, loving, encouraging, playing, guiding, exploring and learning with a child.

Us

We were introduced through a mutual friend, and had our first date on a rainy night. We braved the elements for Chinese food at a local restaurant and hit it off right away. We have always had easy conversation and lots of laughs. We have matching values and similar life experiences that give us a strong connection.

We are a great team and can’t wait to be the ultimate teammates: parents!

We are an active couple and we enjoy socializing with our family and friends on the weekends. We like working out together in our home gym. It is our time to connect with and encourage one another. When the weather is warm, we love to hop on our bikes and enjoy the outdoors.
We especially enjoy biking through the wooded back roads near our home. We are big music fans with eclectic taste – rock, blues and pop are our favorites. We like listening to Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughan, John Mayer and the Beatles. It is not unusual for us to crank up the tunes and dance around the living room! Live music is always a treat at local clubs and music festivals. We try to make a yearly trip to the Austin City Limits Music Festival for great music and time with John’s sister and family who live there.

John by Christine

When I met John, the things that drew me to him were his openness, generosity, and kindness. Just weeks after we met, he offered to pick me up at the airport after a vacation with a friend. He not only met us at the gate, but packed a picnic for us of some of my favorite foods. I knew then that he was a keeper. Our relationship has grown into one of true friendship and partnership. He makes me laugh with his silly comments and funny faces. He is a romantic and continues to surprise me with little gifts, a home cooked meal or a funny card.

He will be a great role model for our children.

John is a man with great strength, perseverance and patience. When John was a teenager, he was in a terrible accident that initially paralyzed him. John did not let his situation knock him down. He worked tremendously hard and maintained a positive attitude. His dedication paid off and he was able to walk in his high school graduation just months later. With John’s spirit and drive, he now lives a full productive life. He likes to ski, bike and boat.

John is a family man who takes the time to lend a hand or offer advice. When John’s sister and her children were in need of a home, John took them in. He continues to be a father figure for his niece and nephew. John is a computer software developer and works from home. He is the family and neighborhood computer fixer. His hours are flexible which will be great as we adjust to parenting. He is the love of my life and I know he will be a wonderful father.

Christine by John

Christine is my best friend and beautiful wife all rolled into one. Our relationship is based first on a mutual respect for each other. Christine is a giving and hard working person. She is always thinking of others and finding a way to make them happy. So many people love Christine because she gives so much of herself, and you always get back what you give. Christine chose an occupation in pediatric physical therapy because she loves to work with children. She gets such pleasure out of her job and is passionate about the children she works with. It makes me smile to see her face light up when she speaks of the babies she treats at work. Although she loves her job, we both agree that Christine will stop working and be a full time stay at home mom. We can’t wait to get started.

She has always dreamed of motherhood.

I’ve often heard, and agree with the philosophy that couples that play together, stay together. This is true for Christine and me – we love to listen to music, bike and exercise together. We look forward to becoming parents together too. Christine has a great sense of humor. She has an easy going personality and sharp wit that instantly endears you to her. She connects to children like Dr. Doolittle connects to animals. She just knows how to speak in their simple terms and play with such enthusiasm that they both have a great time.
Christine is a great cook. My absolute favorite is her banana bread. She adds chocolate chips to the standard recipe. It was the piece that sealed the deal for me. We call it the “hook bread”. One bite and you’re hooked.

Home and Community

We live in a spacious town home in a semirural community in New Jersey. Our baby will have his/her own room and plenty of space to grow and play. We belong to the community pool and live next to the best sleigh riding hill in the neighborhood.

We have a huge state park just 10 minutes away with a lake, playground, fishing, biking and picnicking areas.

There are several local farms close by for apple picking and pumpkin picking in the fall. We look forward to the first trip to the Christmas tree farm as a family.

During the warmer months we can often look to the sky to see colorful hot air balloons floating by. The local elementary school is just a few blocks away.

Family and Friends

Most of our immediate and extended family is local in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. We both grew up with a large family network and we look forward to providing that same sense of family for a child.

Our family has already been touched by adoption. We are fortunate to have two cousins who have created their families through adoption. Our stepsister- in-law was also adopted. We feel so lucky that we have the support and experience of our family to help us.

Thank You

…for taking the time to read a bit about us. We would be honored to talk with you or meet you. We plan to be open and honest with our child, and share his or her adoption story with pride.
