We encourage you to make a "stretch" gift, one that feels comfortably
challenging to you personally. Below, we outline some creative ways of giving
that may help you increase your gift beyond what seems possible. Friends in Adoption
Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and all donations are tax deductible.
We would be delighted to meet with you to explore your ideas and options for giving.
Thank you! 3-Year Pledges
We encourage you to make a 3-year
pledge, spreading payment of your gift over a 3-year period. For example, you
would pay a $75,000 pledge at $25,000 a year, a $15,000 pledge at $5,000 a year,
and a $3,000 pledge at $1,000 a year. We would also welcome shorter or longer
pledge periods. Family Giving
In honor of our core mission of
creating families, we hope you will consider a family pledge -- especially a 3-year
family pledge. FIA parents are asking grand-parents and other family members to
join with them in creating a more significant donation than they could have made
individually. We would be happy to provide you with packets of campaign materials
for family members. Ask yours to pitch in! Beyond Family
Some
FIA alumni are choosing to reach beyond family members - to friends, co-workers,
business colleagues, and others. We can furnish you with specific "non-alumni"
campaign materials. Appreciated Securities
We welcome gifts
of appreciated securities, such as stocks and bonds. Making pledge payments or
donations this way is easy; simply transfer the unsold securities to FIA according
to our written instructions. Tax savings can be significant, as you can deduct
the full market value while paying no capital gains tax on the appreciation. Employer
Matching Gifts
If your employer has a matching gift program, you may be
able to increase or even double the value of your gift. Check and see! Charge
Card Installments
We would be pleased to set up a schedule of automatic
monthly or yearly donations charged to your Visa or Master Card. Planned
gifts, such as bequests and charitable remainder trusts, are wonderful and welcome,
although we cannot count them toward our campaign goal. |
