Touched By Adoption, LLC and The Connecticut Adoption Community Network jointly present The Third Annual Adoption Education Forum entitled An Afternoon With Debbie Riley, MS. Ms. Riley is the Chief Executive Officer of The Center For Adoption Support and Education, Inc. (C.A.S.E.) and co-author of the book, Beneath the Mask, Understanding Adopted Teens. She has been working in the field of adoption since 1993 and is a nationally recognized adoption expert and dynamic public speaker.

Debbie will focus on Adolescent Stuck Spots: Six Major Hurdles for the Adopted Adolescent. She will discuss the life-long issues with which adoptees cope: Identity, Loyalty, Permanence, Differences, Missing Information, and the Reason for their Adoption. She will address such issues as the role of social media in search and reunion, effective parenting techniques through the teens’ anger and resistance, ways to work with the schools during this tumultuous time in the teens’ lives. The workshop will be filled with practical information. Feel free to include your questions with your reservation.

The event will take place on Sunday, March 25, 2012 at Earthplace, 10 Woodside Lane, Westport, Connecticut from 1:00 – 4:00 pm. The workshop is free and open to the public, however pre-registration is required. Space is limited to 100 participants. Reserve your seat ASAP as these workshops have filled up quickly in the past.
