Our Home and Community
We live in Long Island, NY. We live near the beach and 30 miles from NYC. Our school district is Syosset which is noted for its academic excellence.
We are located in the Town of Oyster Bay, which has seven beaches, four kayak launching sites, and over 235 parks with over 1,000 acres of park land. Activities range from children’s play areas, picnic areas, swimming pools, kiddie wading pools, ice skating rinks (including a year-round indoor ice skating rink), roller hockey rink, bike paths, ball fields, volleyball courts, regulation soccer field, basketball courts, handball courts, lighted tennis courts, lighted synthetic field for soccer, football, and lacrosse, lighted softball and baseball fields, little league and T-ball fields, shuffle board courts, bocce ball court, horseshoe pit, nature trails, dog parks, and cafés with outdoor tables.
The Athletic Center also offers indoor activities for children of pre-school age through 12th grade — including volleyball, soccer, ballet, Super Sports, cheerleading, badminton, basketball, tennis, dance, and more. The indoor ice skating rink is also open year-round.
Other indoor activities for children include Once Upon a Treetop (an interactive city designed for children), Active Kids Long Island (indoor amusement center with laser tag, climbing wall, inflatable rides, and arcade games), Not Just Art Nurturing Creativity (children’s creative enrichment center), Long Island Children’s Museum (with programs such as kids in the kitchen, messy afternoons, and music and movement), our local library (children’s and teen programs), and numerous museums — including Long Island Children’s Museum, Aviation Museum, Maritime Museum, Art Museums, and History Museums.
We are also only 30 miles away from all that NYC has to offer.
We have world-class pediatric facilities and hospitals.
We feel so fortunate and grateful to be living in an area with so much to offer, and we look forward to the day we can adopt a baby and share our lives, and everything around us, with the child we adopt.
