“Jay is a genuine, confident, kind, person who emanates unconditional love and joy. With his academic training spanning education and psychology, Jay is an adept listener, communicator, and teacher. I am constantly amazed by how Jay greets his friends, colleagues, and even everyday fly-by strangers with enthusiasm and genuine interest. He is caring, kind, patient, and always goes the extra mile to do someone a favor. It is this affection and warmth that I admire about him and why I fell in love with him.
In his role as a college administrator and professor of education, Jay is an incredibly hard worker and leader in his field. I deeply admire Jay’s commitment to centering fairness, justice, and compassion for his students, employees, colleagues, and peers. Working on the same campus, I frequently meet students who light up with joy and admiration upon learning that I am Jay’s husband. Jay carries a reputation of being an excellent mentor, and he has been an amazing role model to look up to as a partner.
As an uncle and godfather, Jay is attentive, thoughtful, and endearing. He loves attending our niece’s theater performances, bonding with her over their shared love for music. With our nephew, Jay loves connecting through playing games and sharing in their devotion to Disney. With his best friend, a mother of two, Jay is a steadfast listener and advisor, offering his support in the toughest of moments through his friend’s parenthood. I have seen him spend time with our friends as they’ve become new parents, and Jay has demonstrated his profound gentleness and kindness with newborns, and patience and love as he talks with a sad or upset toddler.
Lastly, as a brother, son, and grandson, Jay is loving, empathetic, and bursting with joy. Jay is dedicated to his family, making every attempt to spend time with his sisters, parents, and grandmother whenever possible. He loves taking on outdoor adventures with his dad, playing games and baking with his sisters, long chats connecting with his mom, and paying every visit he can to visit his grandma. With how Jay prioritizes his family, I have no doubt that he will make the best dad anyone could ever ask for.”
