Our Family
We are grateful for the support our families have given us in each step of our journey to start a family.
Jordan’s Side
Jordan’s family hails from New England. Most of his family is in Connecticut with some aunts and uncles in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Our children are the first grandchildren in the family, and will undoubtedly be showered with love and attention.
Jordan’s mom loves traveling, watching live music, couponing, and cooking for a crowd. We never go hungry when she’s around! His grandparents have a backyard pool that Jordan loved swimming in as a kid with his cousins. His grandfather is in a classic car club and maintains two antique cars. His grandmother is an exceptional seamstress and is the go-to person for alterations. Jordan’s dad is the health-nerd of the family and competes in body building.
Maureen’s Side
The child we adopt will be welcomed by ten adoring cousins on Maureen’s side of the family! We love spending time with Maureen’s siblings and their children. It’s crowded, chaotic, and busy, but we always have fun. Over the past year we’ve had a lot of helpers with Wilder, and they will be thrilled to welcome another baby to the family through adoption.
Maureen’s parents, Grammie and Grandpa, live in a 200+ year-old stone farmhouse in the Lehigh Valley of Pennsylvania. A creek runs through their property, and each time the grandchildren visit, they’re down at the water: throwing rocks, fishing, or tubing. Grandpa finished an attic space with a bunk-room for cousin sleepovers and a closet full of toys. Grammie is always ready to direct crafts and baking. Maureen’s siblings live outside of Boston, Los Angeles, Annapolis, and Pittsburgh. We get together several times a year for Thanksgiving, vacation in the summer, and long-weekend visits.
Maureen’s family has several positive connections to adoption. We have learned so much about adoption through their experiences and they will, without a doubt, be another loving resource and relatable role model to the child we adopt.
Our Adoption Network
As we began to talk with family and friends about adoption, we realized we know dozens of individuals and their families who were touched by it. Now, more than ever, we feel like we are surrounded and supported by a strong network that shares the adoption experience.
