Stephen and Patrick (PJ)
We are a fun and loving couple hoping to complete our family and fulfill a life long dream, of both of ours, to be parents.
We both have had successful careers in London and New York City and now own and run a hotel in Cape Cod, Massachusetts. We are in a good place financially and emotionally to raise a family with an abundance of love, time, and support.
In 2016, we met each other while on vacation in Mexico during the New Year’s weekend.
In 2019, we got officially married in May and had a church blessing in front of all our families and friends in September. As a couple, we have built a wonderful life together, alonside our two sweet dogs. Tiger is a small spotted poodle and Olli is a black water dog, very dopey and very loving! You can read more about us as a couple in the section “Our Story So Far”.
Now, in 2022, we hope we can build our family and make an amazing life for the child we adopt. We have no idea who this little person will be but they already hold a place in our hearts. We just can’t wait!

“Stephen (or Steve) is the middle child of the Walker family. He grew up in London, England. Stephen has two sisters and a very large extended family who are very proud of their Irish roots. He is a creative at heart who loves to paint, dance, and anything to do with nature. Stephen was that kid who was always bringing home injured animals he had found to his mother’s house. She was always finding hidden spots under the bed, in the walls and cabinets, among other places, where he was hiding and raising insects, birds, squirrels, and animals of all sorts. His mother told me he was known as the ‘Dancing Dr. Dolittle’ by his friends and family. Had it not been for his allergies he would have pursued a career as a vet.
Luckily, Stephen was the ‘Dancing Dr. Dolittle’ and because of this he was able to pursue his other passions — acting and dancing. He went to a performing art school in London since the age of ten and that training led to a dance career that took him all over the world, from Italy to India and Egypt, and to dozens of places in between.
I met Stephen through a mutual friend while I was in Mexico for a friend’s birthday. I was living in New York City at the time and Stephen was living in Los Angeles pursuing his acting dreams. It didn’t take long for us to realize that life was better together and after nine months, Stephen came to New York City for his first Thanksgiving and met my father and brother. I convinced him to try and pursue his dreams in NYC and he never left.
I know Stephen is going to be a great Dad because, from the moment we met, I knew he had a loving and nurturing nature. He really took hold of my heart and dreams in his wonderful desire to be a parent. His way with our nieces and nephew makes Stephen the immediate ‘favorite Uncle’ because of his parental ways, loving intent, and amazing ability to have kids laughing instantly with good, humorous fun!
Stephen is a natural teacher, gifted athlete who will have our children running and playing every day. He is also an amazing creator of all different types of foods, and one who just loves to show love from our home to all in our life. Being Dads together is more than a dream. It is the very essence and purpose of our marriage together.”

“PJ (or Patrick) has a love for music, adventure, and people. These qualities, combined with a huge and generous heart, make him a joy to be around. PJ is everyone’s favorite person. He is cheeky and charming with a childish sense of fun that make him a magnet for children young and old.
PJ is what I like to call the brains of the operation at our home — making sure the bills are paid on time and thinking about our future. I attribute this to the fact his mum used to be a school principal — and her skills show on PJ.
His father was a big sports enthusiast, which also shows on PJ, as he loves nothing more than sports. PJ was a star lacrosse player and high achiever.
PJ is the younger of two boys in his family. He and his older brother grew up with their mother. His mother and grandmother (on his father’s side) both became single parents while their kids were very young. His mum later remarried. These two women have had the biggest impact on PJ’s life as a child and as an adult.
While spending time playing sports and boating with his biological father, PJ also learned a lot of practical life skills from his stepfather, especially while fishing together.
PJ has been a hard working person since he was very young. He started with a paper route as a kid, and later when he could get a real job at 14, he started serving food to the residents at a nursing home that had opened up near his house. From that point forward, he always seemed to have a part time job while playing sports and going to school. His dad bragged that he earned a partial sports scholarship to Marist college, while his mum bragged he earned a partial academic scholarship.
After college, he started working in the commodity industry as an Aluminum trader. During our engagement, he bought a hotel in Provincetown and during the Covid pandemic, he quit his job to run the hotel full time.
I know PJ is going to be a great father to the child we adopt, because from the moment I met PJ he’s been nothing but consistently kind and patient towards me and others, and showing a natural fatherly side when around children and babies that makes my heart melt and fills me with the upmost confidence in his ability to parent.
I know, with PJ by my side, we will be ready for all that parenthood has to throw at us.”

After meeting on vacation (as we Americans say) or holiday (as those silly British say) in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico on New Year’s weekend 2016, both our lives changed very quickly. Never had we expected to fall in love from what we thought was just a holiday romance, but we did.
I traveled to Los Angeles to visit Stephen for our first “date.” We went for a smoothie after a trip to the gym together and the barista knew Stephen from his dancing career and I blushed thinking I was on a date with a celebrity! For our next date, I invited Stephen to my favorite place ever, Provincetown, and to stay with me at my beach house. I took him to my favorite restaurants. We danced at the little old seaside bars and his favorite, we rode our bikes through the dunes and had our packed lunch on the beach and could see whales while we ate. I have heard Stephen saying to our dogs as he walks them through what is now our home that this is where he first realized he was falling in love with me.
As the saying goes, “When it’s right it’s right,” Stephen soon began speaking of having a family and I let him know I was of the same mind. After 9 months of long distancing dating and a lot of amazing weekends, vacations, and meetings of each other’s friends and family, we decided Stephen should move to New York City and live with me.
For the next year we had plenty of dancing, laughing (we can both be the “life of the party” although Stephen is clearly the better dancer and entertainer), and trips to Florida, London, and upstate New York to meet both of our parents and our siblings.
It became apparent to Stephen that we are both “mummies boys” with love and family values at our cores. We soon got an adorable little poodle puppy called Tiger, that was the first addition to our family.
Before I could have imagined it happening, Stephen proposed to me in Ireland. Stephen had been on tour in Europe as a choreographer for a pop singer and I was going to see the Rolling Stones in concert and then meet up with him afterwards. While we were spending the weekend in Dublin, Stephen proposed to me with an Irish claddagh ring that I had always loved the tradition of. We changed plans and flew immediately to London to celebrate our engagement with his family.
We had a September wedding in a big white church on the main street of Provincetown. We can both say that without a doubt, having all our friends and family in one big room was the best day of our lives. Which is where we now run an Inn together while Stephen does streaming news stories for Out and The Advocate magazines. We have since added dog #2 to our family, a much bigger and goofier Portuguese water dog.
We are still dancing, laughing, very much in love, and now looking forward to the day we are blessed with the gift of adoption.
We’re both very lucky to have loving immediate families. But our extended family and friends are just as important to us.

My mom and dad are named Nora & Alfie. They are prospective Grandparents through adoption and are eagerly awaiting the new addition. They can’t wait to spoil a future grandchild!
I have two sisters, Natasha and Ashlie, who are both married. Natasha has two girls, my nieces Taylor and Brooke. Ashlie has two children, my niece Xanthe and my youngest nephew little Bodie.
I love my siblings very much and hope to have more then one child, so they can have that same loving experience with their siblings.
I think we have a very diverse group of family and friends to guide and help us parent our future child if needed.
My best friend, Barry, has adopted a beautiful boy named Jayden who is very much part of our family. Jaden is of mixed heritage so we have a head start on knowing the importance of honoring a child’s background and culture.
My sister Ashlie’s husband heritage is Singaporean. They have two children.
One of my godchildren is of Norwegian and Jamaican descent. I am a proud godfather to five children and take my godfather duties very seriously, never forgetting birthdays.
Holidays around my family and friends are always fun with lots of children, pets, and impromptu plays. Thankfully there are lots of aunts and uncles sharing babysitting duties!

My only brother, Scott, and I have a very close relationship and he is looking forward to being the uncle that spoils his nephew or niece. Scott lives in Orlando, Florida, near my biological father Jaime. They are growing closer to one another since they’ve been living in the same area. Scott is married and has two dogs, Dora and Lola. He has recently changed career to work in Real estate, which is making him very happy.
My mother Lorraine lives in Lake George, NY with her husband (my stepdad, John). My Father, Jaime, lives in St. Petersburg, Florida. We enjoy spending quality time with all of them and visit each other as often as possible.
My mother and father are so excited to be grandparents for the first time. Their dream has been to see me with children and a family.
Our friends are so important to us. They’re more than just people we know and enjoy hanging out with, but extensions of who we are and would like to be. Surrounding ourselves with people we love that inspire us, can teach us, and be there to support us in the rough times, is vital to us.
Our friends are our chosen family and they’re so very excited for our biggest adventure yet, becoming parents.
We live in a seaside town. Home is a late 1800’s beach house with a fenced-in back yard that opens directly to a beach. During the warmer seasons, grilling on our patio and making s’mores over beach fires are a weekly occurrence. We love cooking at home. Stephen is often found in the kitchen whipping up a meal while PJ can be found outside manning the grill.
We are a small community with great schools. Until 4th grade, class size is no more than ten children. We also live a block away from a really cool playground and basketball courts that is a favorite for local children.
Next door to us is a tuition-free sailing school for children. Which means, for ten weeks of the year we have twenty screaming kids enjoying life — playing beach games, sailing, and everything the beach has to offer.
Our town has many nature trails for biking, hiking, and even horseback riding on the beach.
In winter months, we’re planning on home being in the UK for holidays with Stephen’s parents, siblings, nieces and nephews. Stephen has a house in Streatham Hill, which is a very diverse and vibrant community.

We were recently visiting them for lunch with both of our kids, as the server came over to ask for our order, both Patrick and Stephen swooped in and grabbed both kids and said we were off duty. Their love for children is so apparent and we can’t wait until we can have our children play and grow up with theirs.”
