A Little About Us

We met in April of 2021 after we reached a point where dating wasn’t turning up any suitable potential matches. We had plenty of bad experiences in relationships, and neither of us wanted just another boyfriend or girlfriend. We wanted a spouse. We met on Facebook Dating, and they really should interview us as a success story for their platform. We both knew the other was “the one” from the first date. While still in the parking lot from our first meeting, Vanessa called her close friend and said, “I just met my husband.” She was right.

Our relationship progressed fast. We both were at good places in our lives, the best we could be, and ready to meet the person we wanted to marry. We both also came into the relationship with a young child. At the time, Grace had just turned seven, and Arthur was only three months old. We both needed the love and support of the other to raise these two young children successfully, and we quickly found it. Within weeks of meeting, we were already discussing our next steps: moving in, raising kids, our future, and adopting Grace. Vanessa didn’t know it yet, but the thought of marriage was also circulating. Within four months of meeting, we were engaged, and on March 12th, 2022, we became one family. Later that year, Brian adopted Grace to give her the father she needed, and adoption became part of our family’s story.

We own a school transportation business and are so blessed by all it affords us. More than just monetarily, it allows us to work from home and spend an extraordinary amount of time with Grace, Arthur, and Theodore. Every morning before school, we all get ready and eat breakfast together. As parents, we ensure our children are getting a full, robust, and unique education focusing on our faith, mathematics, reading, history, and sciences. As a family, we get to enjoy time at parks, museums, and special field trips all as part of our children’s education. Working from home and owning our own business has provided us with the flexibility to keep Arthur and now Theodore out of daycare as infants. The child we hope to adopt would stay home with us, too.

Since becoming a family, we have experienced both joy and heartbreak. Throughout it all, we rely on each other and our faith for love and strength. Our relationship is grounded in our faith and the love we receive from it. Our faith drives us to extend that same love to others, and we are thrilled to be on this adoption journey together. We have received an outpouring of love and support from so many people, and we hope to fill our home and hearts with the love and laughter of another child.

Brian grew up in Carlisle, PA, and did landscaping for his father’s business. Vanessa grew up in Lehighton, PA, and raised animals on her family’s farm.
Brian enjoys woodworking and building usable furniture for our home in Carlisle, Pennsylvania.
Vanessa wrote her first book, Jonah’s Journey, to help families struggling with the loss of an infant. Her second book, Daddy’s Journey to Heaven, is written to help children understand the loss of a father.
Grace loves history, astronomy, geology, and reading. She is involved in Student Council and plays her cello for the school orchestra.
Arthur adores trains and even got to meet and ride in his favorite train, Thomas.
Theodore is a happy and energetic boy that is full of smiles, says “hi”, and waves at people. He loves his siblings and puppies. He will be one in October of 2026.

“Vanessa is not only my beloved wife but also my dearest companion and confidante. I was captivated by her unfailing kindness, selflessness, and the warmth of her heart. Her love acts as the unwavering anchor that grounds our relationship, and her steadfast support is the strength that uplifts our family daily. From the moment I met her, I knew in my heart that she was destined for me. I firmly believe that it was God’s plan to bring her into my life, and I express my gratitude to Him daily for blessing me with her presence.

Vanessa transformed our dull old house into a warm, welcoming home brimming with smiles and laughter. She has skillfully decorated our home into a place that reflects us as a family. Crafts made with the kids adorn our bookcases, windows, and walls. She thrives when we have friends and family over for dinner or holiday parties. She lights up and glows with happiness to see someone enjoying a dessert she baked. Vanessa has brought a warmth into the walls of our home that is hard to explain or describe.

Beyond being an incredible wife, she is an amazing business partner. I couldn’t ask for a better teammate. We’ve built our family school transportation business into something special together, and I know we couldn’t have done it without her intelligence, dedication, and passion. Her ability to balance our company with the demands of family life is nothing short of remarkable. Somehow, she always has room and patience for everyone in her life, even after long, stressful, and hard days.

Vanessa loves the outdoors and enjoys biking, fishing, hiking, and watching and discovering wildlife. Her favorite places are the beach and the creek. She is drawn to water, and one of her favorite things to do is take our family on creek walks, where she hunts out interesting little critters or stones to share in laughter and excitement with our children.

Vanessa is caring and loving to her core; it is part of her being. She has taken heartbreaking moments in her life and transformed them into meaningful ways to help others. She first did this as a therapist to help the most vulnerable of children. She then did it again when she authored and published a children’s book to help young families discuss loss. Her selflessness and thoughtfulness are the foundation of her being.

There is much to admire about Vanessa, but what I admire most about her is the way she is as a mom. Grace and Arthur are so lucky to have her. The love, patience, and care she gives to them every single day is awe-inspiring. Vanessa makes motherhood look effortless, even though I know it takes so much strength and resilience. She is their hero, and she is mine, too.”

A Little About Brian

“Brian is not just my husband; he is my best friend. When we met, I quickly knew I wanted to marry him. His kind demeanor and his selfless heart drew me in. I knew he was indeed who God sent for me.

We both knew when we met that we wanted a big family and that adoption would be part of our family’s story. Shortly after we married, Brian adopted my biological daughter Grace, and they both began to develop an unbreakable daddy-daughter bond. His love for our children makes me love him more intensely every day.

Brian takes time to spend one-on-one time with our children and our dogs daily. Brian is the cook in our home, and our kids and I jokingly call him Chef Boyardad. Grace doesn’t like going out to eat because ‘It’s just not as good as dad’s!’.

Often, one will find Brian in the backyard throwing frisbee with our son Arthur or telling dad jokes and reading with our daughter Grace. Brian leads us in our faith and drives us further into becoming the united family unit we are and are meant to be.

Brian’s unique intelligence is something one has to witness to believe. He remembers things from history and geography and solves math problems like no one I have ever known, often beating the calculator. Our kids and I learn something new from him every day.

Brian’s unwavering loyalty blends into his unmatched work ethic. It is incredible to watch him lead, as he often refers to himself as ‘a leader, not a boss.’ He is very devoted to our family’s success and business. Working next to him in life and our business, to some, seems impossible, but to us, it is empowering to our devoted relationship. He has also taken time to master the work/life balance, and for our family, it has been life-changing.

Often, Brian donates his time to our church’s ushering ministry and enjoys being a member of the men’s ministry. Brian is a learner and will usually be found with a book in his hand. As I’m sure from reading above, this comes as no surprise. He often offers his help to others, selflessly giving of himself whenever he sees a need.

For fun, Brian occasionally plays a video game and attends a weekly board game night with his friends. He also enjoys woodworking and built our family a beautiful ten-foot dining room table and our kids a gorgeous toy box.

Brian’s unwavering faith, understanding, and selfless demeanor bring peace to our home. Brian is the cornerstone of our life. I often say, ‘he loves like Jesus,’ and to me, that’s all we could ask for.”

A Little About Grace, Arthur, and Theodore

We want to share a bit about our three wonderful kids, Grace, Arthur, and Theodore.

Grace, who is twelve years old, never ceases to amaze us with her intelligence and wit. She’s brilliant and always finds a way to bring a smile to our faces with her goofy sense of humor. Whether inventing games for her dolls or pouring over her new book, Grace keeps us all on our toes. She has a bright future, and we love watching her curiosity and compassion bloom.

Then there’s Arthur, our little ball of energy. At five years old, he’s the epitome of fun and enthusiasm. His boundless energy is contagious — he’s always on the move, exploring and finding joy in the simplest things. Arthur lives for trains, and his laughter fills our home with happiness. He’s a whirlwind of excitement; we wouldn’t have it any other way.

Theodore is the newest member of our family. He will be one year old in October of 2026. He His little personality brings so much joy to our home. His sweet smile, curious eyes, and strong spirit remind us every day of how blessed we are. Even though he is still little, he has already filled our hearts with love and laughter. We look forward to watching him grow, learn, and become the man God created him to be.

Together, Grace, Arthur, and Theodore make our family dynamic and full of love. Their unique personalities complement each other perfectly, and it’s such a joy to watch them grow and learn from one another.

Our friends and family are the people who genuinely know us, have been there through thick and thin, and understand our hearts better than anyone else.

Our Home

We live in a two-story Victorian brick home just outside the center of our small town on a quiet tree-lined street. We jokingly refer to our home as the “Walsh Manor” and have spent many hours and our own sweat making the 140-year-old house into our home. Our home is welcoming and lively with our three children and dogs often all at play in the living room, playroom, or in our fenced-in yard. We decorate for holidays and we have crafts our children have made with us on family craft night adorning our walls and windows.

We work from home and had a porch renovated into our home office, because we value being home and with our children as much as possible. It allowed us to keep our youngest child home until he was ready for preschool at age three. We have developed a strong work-life balance that allows us to homeschool our children.

At the center of our house is our dining room that all the rooms lead to on the first floor and it is truly our meeting space as a family. It is the focal point of many birthday celebrations, holiday parties, and every family meal which we all sit down to, join hands, and pray for our many blessings together. Our kitchen is always a hotbed of activity with the whole family joining in to make meals and enjoy in the process of breaking bread together. Our living room features two large couches that we all share with our two dogs on regular movie nights or playing video games together.

Each of our children has a bedroom that is personalized to their interests. Arthurs’ Thomas Blue colored bedroom is a creative collection of dinosaur artwork and trains. Grace’s periwinkle purple bedroom matches her unique flair and it is filled with books that she loves to read and is decorated in a stars and space theme with a pinch of fairy dust. Theodore’s room is forrest green with a woodland theme. All three of the children have a large personal book collection that we read from together. The children also have a large playroom with many toys and a large space to make artwork, build crafts, and do homework.

Evening bedtimes are personalized for each child and each gets their own time with mom and dad together to read books, pray, sing songs, or just let out what is on their minds. This time is so important for all of us as a family.

Meet Henry & Luna

Henry and Luna are more than just our family’s dogs; they’re pillars of joy and comfort in our household. Henry, the Boxer, is a bundle of muscle and enthusiasm, always ready for an energetic game of fetch or a playful game in the yard. His protective nature is balanced by a gentle heart, especially regarding the kids. He’s often found by Grace’s side, watching over her keenly or trying to keep up with Arthur’s boundless energy while surveying the yard to protect his littlest human. Henry has a soft spot for snuggles despite his strong appearance, often curling up next to the kids during movie nights or following them around the house like a shadow. Henry is such a part of our hearts that Theodore’s middle name is Henry. Henry was the first to greet Theo when we brought him home from the hospital as one of his new pups.

Luna, our Great Dane, is the silly, gentle giant of the family. With her towering height and calm demeanor, she exudes a quiet, comforting, reassuring strength. Luna’s bond with the kids is exceptional — she’s their guardian, playmate, and sometimes, pillow. Whether it’s allowing Arthur to clamber over her as if she’s his jungle gym or patiently waiting for Grace to feed her, Luna’s sweetness and love are endless.

Together, Henry and Luna complement each other perfectly, embodying the spirit of our family in their unique ways. They’ve been there for countless moments, from the laughter of playtime to the quiet comfort during challenging days. Their unwavering love and loyalty make them integral parts of our family, and the home wouldn’t be the same without their playful antics. Henry and Luna aren’t just pets — they’re cherished members of our family, bringing joy, comfort, and unconditional love daily.
