Post-Adoption Resources & Lifelong Support

Friends in Adoption is a lifelong community resource for birth/ first mothers, birth/ first fathers, birth/ first families, adoptive families and people who were adopted. FIA recognizes that adoption does not end with the placement of a child. Adoption is a lifelong relationship based on mutual respect and responsibility for the sake of each child. Since its inception in 1982, FIA has offered post-adopt support services to any member of the family of adoption — whether that be an ear to listen or a referral to further support services. Friends in Adoption facilitates communication as needed between adoptive families and birth families, and is available not only before and during an adoption process, but in the years following placement.
